Gold price falls sharply, now Tk2,55,617 per bhori

Gold prices have fallen once again in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) has now been set at Tk2,55,617.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), in a press release, announced the price cut on Saturday morning. Before the announcement, 22-carat gold was being sold at Tk2,71,363.

The BAJUS notice said that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased. Therefore, considering the overall situation, a new price for gold has been set.

The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk2,44,010 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk2,09,135 per bhori, and traditional-method gold is set at Tk1,71,869 per bhori.

The notice further said that 5 percent VAT and a minimum wage of 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold. However, the wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.

Alongside gold, the price of silver has also decreased.

The price of 22-carat silver has now been set at Tk7,290 per bhori, 21-carat silver at Tk6,940 per bhori, 18-carat silver at Tk5,949 per bhori, and traditional-method silver at Tk4,432 per bhori.
