The preliminary examination of the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) will be held on Friday, with tests starting simultaneously at 10am in 190 centres across Dhaka and seven other divisional cities.
According to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), a total of 290,952 candidates are set to sit the examination, which will run until noon.
The PSC said the recruitment process under the 50th BCS aims to appoint 2,150 officers to government service.
Candidates have been instructed to enter their designated examination centres by 9:30 am.
The commission said books, notebooks, any type of watch, calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, bank card-like items, jewellery, keys and all kinds of bags will be prohibited inside examination halls.
