Formal charges have been filed at the International Crimes Tribunal against former Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Awami League leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak, and 26 others.
The case concerns crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Mohammadpur during the July uprising last year.
The tribunal is scheduled to hold a hearing on the matter on Sunday. Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the development to Times of Bangladesh.
