BNP leaders and activists gathered in front of Evercare Hospital on Thursday afternoon as the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit his mother, Khaleda Zia.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since 23 November.
Meanwhile, security personnel have been deployed in and around the hospital.
Tarique Rahman is expected to meet his mother following his address at a reception rally on the 300 Feet road in Purbachal.
