Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus visited BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
He arrived at the hospital on Wednesday evening. Upon arrival at the hospital, the chief adviser was received by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physicians Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Professor Dr Shahabuddin Talukder, Khaleda Zia’s younger son’s wife Syeda Shamila Rahman, and Khaleda Zia’s younger brother Shamim Iskander.
The chief adviser stayed at the hospital for about half an hour and inquired about the treatment of the BNP leader.

Khaleda Zia’s medical team briefed Yunus about her physical condition. They informed him that Khaleda Zia’s treatment was ongoing under the supervision and assistance of specialist doctors from the United States, the United Kingdom, and China.
Security was strengthened in the hospital area in the evening due to the chief adviser’s arrival. Members of law enforcement agencies, including the Special Security Force (SSF), President Guard Regiment (PGR), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and police were present for additional security measures.
At that time, the main gate of the hospital was cordoned off with barbed wire barricades.

Khaleda Zia, who has been admitted to Evercare Hospital since 23 November, is still in critical condition. She is being treated in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Her treatment is ongoing under the supervision of a medical board formed with the coordination of local and foreign specialist doctors. UK specialist doctor Richard Biehl, who is assisting in the treatment of the BNP Chairperson, arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, on Tuesday night, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan visited the Evercare Hospital to see the BNP chairperson.
