Rishad Hossain then delivered the spell that defined the evening. His googlies gripped and dipped through the surface. Curtis Campher was bowled. Stirling holed out. Rishad finished with 3 for 21 and left Ireland without a route to recovery.
Mustafizur closed the innings with another decisive burst. His wickets took him beyond Ish Sodhi into third place in all-time T20I wicket-taking. Litton Das described the turnaround in fielding as the biggest confidence builder. “We caught brilliantly in this series,” he said. “I think we can say there has been a lot of development.”
Bangladesh chased like a side playing with purpose, not just protecting a lead. Tanzid stroked three early boundaries, Parvez Hossain Emon joined him calmly and the chase was never threatened. Bangladesh finished the job in 13.4 overs.
For Ireland head coach Heinrich Malan, the defeat was framed as a step in education. “There were learnings in the middle overs and the way Bangladesh tied us down,” he said. “It sets us up nicely for similar challenges before the World Cup.”
It was also Litton’s fifth T20I series win as captain, the most by a Bangladeshi, and the manner of victory showed confidence rather than merely competence.
