The ICC T20 World Cup will begin on 7 February, with both the tournament and Bangladesh’s campaign kicking off on the same day. Litton Das, Taskin Ahmed and the Tigers will open their World Cup journey against West Indies in Kolkata, while Pakistan will face the Netherlands in the tournament’s first match in Colombo.
Bangladesh group-stage fixtures
Bangladesh will start their campaign on 7 February at 3:30 pm Bangladesh time against West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Their second match is scheduled for 9 February against Italy – who are making their World Cup debut – also in Kolkata, starting at 11:30 am.
On 14 February, Bangladesh will take on former world champions England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, with the match beginning at 3:30 pm.
The Tigers’ final group match is against Nepal on 17 February in Mumbai, starting at 7:30 pm.
Tournament opener and knockout schedule
The tournament’s opening fixture – Pakistan v Netherlands – will be played on 7 February at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
The first semi-final will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, and the second at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Both semi-finals are scheduled for 4 March.
Two venues will be reserved for the final. If Pakistan qualify, Colombo will host the final; if not, it will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Following a three-day gap after the semi-finals, the final is set for 8 March.
The India–Pakistan group-stage clash will take place in Colombo on 15 February, starting at 7:30 pm Bangladesh time.
The T20 World Cup features 55 matches across four groups, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the Super Eight stage. From there, the leading two from each Super Eight group will reach the semi-finals.
