Nine people, including three children, were killed after a fire broke out in a residential building in southwest Delhi’s Palam area on Wednesday morning, officials said.
Personnel from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) rescued occupants from the building and rushed them to nearby hospitals, reports NDTV.
Doctors later declared six of them dead. The deceased have been identified as Pravesh ,35, Kamal ,40, Ashu ,32, and three minor girls aged 12, 6 and 5. They were taken to Manipal Hospital.
In total, 10 people were rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals by ambulance.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control following intensive rescue and firefighting operations.
