At least seven students were injured in a clash between two groups at Government Madrasa-e-Alia in Dhaka’s Bakshibazar area on Saturday night.
The injured were Sadik, 21, Moin, 22, Ilyas, 21, Omar Faruk, 21, Abu Bakkar, 22, Walid, 22, and Enamul, 22. They received treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, said the students sustained injuries to their hands and heads, though none were in critical condition.
According to witnesses and police, the clash broke out around 9:30pm inside a madrasa hall during a milad mahfil and continued until about 11pm. Police and army personnel rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
