In the past 24 hours, 572 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. No deaths were reported during this period. So far this year, a total of 377 people have died from dengue.
This information was provided in a press release issued on Saturday by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the release, between 8am Friday and 8am Saturday, 572 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals.
Of them, 90 were admitted in Barishal division, 132 in Chattogram division, 116 in Dhaka division (outside the city), 132 in Dhaka North City, 67 in Dhaka South City, 32 in Mymensingh division and three in Sylhet division.
During the same period, 570 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. So far this year, 91,222 patients have been discharged.
From January until now, a total of 93,766 dengue patients have been admitted and 377 have died.
According to the DGHS, data on hospital admissions and deaths due to dengue have been collected since 2000. In 2024, from January to 31 December, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue and 575 died.
In 2023, from 1 January to 31 December, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, while 321,179 were hospitalised.
