Fifty officers-in-charge (OCs) of police stations under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have been transferred.
The order was issued on Thursday through an official directive signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sajjat Ali.
The large-scale reshuffle comes ahead of the 13th National Election. According to several officials, the move follows a lottery process held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday to finalise the list of eligible inspectors.
It has also been confirmed that among those transferred on Thursday are several inspectors who had only recently been reassigned to new postings.
