A total of 4,58,673 expatriate Bangladeshis have so far enrolled via the “Postal Vote BD” application to participate in the upcoming 13th national election and referendum.

Election Commission (EC) published the updated statistics on its official website on Sunday. Data from the EC portal shows that among the registered expatriate voters, 4,30,312 are male and 28,359 are female.

Saudi Arabia leads in registrations with 1,17,147 enrolments. The Qatar follows with 42,213, then Malaysia with 29,811, Oman with 28,946, United Arab Emirates with 23,032, Singapore with 16,701.

EC has called on expatriates to ensure they submit full and correct postal addresses during registration, warning that ballot papers will be undeliverable if address information is insufficient.

The initial deadline for expatriate voter registration, which was 18 December, has also been extended to 25 December, as confirmed by EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.
