The government has appointed 31 senior assistant secretaries as Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs).
A gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday night said the officers have been granted the authority of Additional District Magistrates under Section 10(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, enabling them to perform executive magistracy in their respective areas.
They have been directed to join their new posts by 11 December, failing which they will be released from their current duties immediately.
The notification also instructed officers whose workstations have already been changed to submit joining letters with updated office information.
