Three of the victims killed in the fire at a multi-storey building in Uttara, Dhaka, have been buried.
On Saturday, they were buried in their family graveyard in their village home at Chowdhury Kazi Bari premises in Chouddogram Upazila, Cumilla.
The deceased are Kazi Fazle Rabbi, his wife Afroza Akhtar, and their two-year-old son Kazi Fiyaz Rishan.
Earlier, after funeral prayers in Dhaka, the bodies were brought to their home in Nanuar Dighirpar, Cumilla, on Friday night. After funeral prayers at the Daroga Bari Mazar premises, they were taken to their village home for burial on Saturday morning.
As soon as the ambulance carrying the bodies of the three members of the same family arrived in the area, relatives began to wail in grief. Neighbours rushed to Chowdhury Kazi Bari to catch a final glimpse of the deceased.
Hundreds of people, including local dignitaries, were present at the funeral prayers.
On Friday morning last week, a fire broke out on the second floor of a 7-storey building on in Uttara’s Sector 11. Six members of two families lost their lives in the incident.
