Three children have died of measles while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in the last 24 hours.
MMCH’s Measles Outbreak Unit Focal Person Golam Maula confirmed the matter. According to him, 32 new children were admitted, while 36 children were discharged after recovery. Moreover, 74 children remain under treatment at the hospital.
The three fatalities occurred between 9am on Monday and 9am on Tuesday. Hospital sources revealed that from 17 March to 28 April, a total of 925 children with measles symptoms were admitted to the hospital. Among them, 831 children recovered and returned home.
During the same period, a total of 20 children died of measles while hospitalised.
