3.3 magnitude tremor felt in Narsingdi’s Palash

A mild earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was felt in the Palash area of Narsingdi on Saturday morning.

The tremor struck at 10:36am, said Nizamuddin Ahmed, an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), according to media reports.

The quake followed a powerful 5.7-magnitude earthquake on Friday that claimed at least 10 lives and affected several parts of the country including Dhaka.

According to the BMD, Friday’s tremor occurred at 10:38am, with its epicentre in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, approximately 13km east of the Seismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and assess any damage caused by the quakes.
