A total of 25,408 candidates were absent across 11 education boards on the first day of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations.
Six students and one invigilator were expelled for adopting unfair means, according to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
Among the absentees, 11,890 were from nine general education boards, 11,211 from the Madrasah Education Board, and 2,307 from the Technical Education Board.
Two students were expelled under the general boards, four under the Madrasah board, and one invigilator under the Technical Education Board.
The committee said the overall situation of the examinations was more satisfactory compared to previous years.
Bangla first paper was held under the general boards, Quran Majeed and Tajweed under the Madrasah board, and Bangla second paper under the Technical Education Board on the first day.
