Two young men were killed when their motorcycle hit a parked bus on the Dhaka–Chattogram highway in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla.
Confirming the incident, Miabazar Highway Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Ruhul Amin said the identities of the deceased could not be confirmed. The accident occurred around 8am on Saturday.
According to police, the motorcycle struck the rear of a bus parked on the highway, killing both riders instantly.
Police reached the scene after receiving information, recovered the bodies, and took them to the police station.
Both the motorcycle and the bus have been seized. However, the bus driver and helper fled before police arrived.
OC Ruhul Amin said efforts are on to identify the deceased. Legal proceedings are underway, he added.
