Police and army personnel have recovered two grenades in Jhenaidah that were buried underground during the 1971 Liberation War.

Workers unearthed the two unexploded grenades around 12:30pm on Sunday while digging soil during construction work at the house of Babu Shikdar in Gariyala village under Sadar upazila.

Confirming the matter, Naldanga Police Outpost In‑charge Assistant Sub‑Inspector Rashidul Islam said the workers found the objects while excavating soil for building a new house.
