At least two more people have died from suspected measles across the country in 24 hours until 8am on Friday, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the latest victims, one was reported in Sylhet district and the other in Barguna district under the Barishal division.
During the same 24-hour period, 185 new confirmed cases of measles were identified, while 900 suspected cases were recorded nationwide.
The figures were released in a press release from the Integrated Control Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles patients in the country has reached 128,310 since 15 March, with 16,059 cases confirmed through testing.
During this period, a total of 741 deaths from suspected measles have been recorded, while 96 deaths have been laboratory-confirmed as being caused by the disease.
A divisional breakdown of the data shows that Dhaka division recorded the highest number of suspected cases in the last 24 hours with 348 infections, followed by Chattogram with 207 and Barishal with 142.
Dhaka also remains the worst-affected region in terms of fatalities, accounting for 322 deaths to date. Other significant death tolls include 109 in Sylhet, 91 in Rajshahi, and 70 in Mymensingh.
Regarding hospitalisation and treatment, 805 patients were admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, while 806 were discharged following recovery.
Since 15 March, a total of 110,987 patients have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 106,859 have been released after receiving medical care.
