The initiative by Abdul Awal Mintoo, minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, to eliminate extortion, terrorism, and irregularities in his constituency has received a significant response, with 167 written complaints filed within the first five days of its launch.
The minister, who represents Feni-3 (Daganbhuiyan-Sonagazi) constituency, shared the update on Tuesday via a post on his official Facebook page.
He confirmed that in addition to the 167 written reports received through the dedicated website, the hotline has also been inundated with numerous phone calls.
He had originally announced the launch of the hotline and website on the night of Thursday as part of a commitment to keep his constituency free from crime and administrative irregularities.
The designated hotline number for reporting such grievances is 017300-04844. In his latest update, the Minister requested citizens to refrain from calling the hotline unless it is an emergency. He urged the public to submit their complaints via the website instead, noting that this would facilitate a speedier resolution process.
