Police have arrested a total of 1,641 people during special operations across the country on various criminal charges.
The arrests were made on Monday, said a press release issued by Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
According to the police, 1,116 persons were arrested in the last 24 hours in connection with different cases. In addition, another 525 people were detained for other criminal offenses during the same period.
The Police Headquarters further said that such drives will continue to maintain law and order in the country.
