Human rights organisation Human Rights Support Society (HRSS) has stated that the human rights situation in November has been alarming, and that political and electoral violence has reached an extreme level.
These details were stated in the organisation’s human rights monitoring report for November 2025. According to the report, in November, at least 96 incidents of political violence resulted in 12 deaths and 874 injuries. It is stated that, in connection with the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, violence between political parties has increased at an alarming rate.
The report further states that in November, 36 journalists were subjected to assault and harassment in 23 incidents of attacks and torture on journalists. Among them, 22 were injured and 11 journalists were threatened.
Noting a deterioration in law and order in November, the report states that there were at least 20 incidents of mob beating and mob violence, in which 16 people were killed and 11 were injured.
The report also states that in November, 177 women and children were victims of abuse, 1 person was killed by BSF gunfire, 26 Bangladeshi fishermen were detained by the Arakan Army, and at least 12 inmates died in the country’s prisons, including the death of a suspected detainee in police custody.
The human rights organisation HRSS has called on the government to take more accountable and responsible actions.
