Twin brothers- Tanvir Hasan and Tafsir Hasan, aged 11 and in sixth grade, have become the youngest developers on bdapps, a developer platform operated by Robi Axiata.
Hailing from Shariatpur, the twins taught themselves coding and app development over the past three years through free YouTube tutorials and online resources, practising entirely on their mother’s smartphone. They have successfully built three apps, said a press release on Tuesday.
bdapps discovered the twins through media coverage and invited them to Robi’s corporate headquarters on 13 August. After they demonstrated their apps and shared their coding journey, the platform officially onboarded them as its youngest developers.
A bdapps delegation visited the twins’ home in Shariatpur on 19 August to conduct a hands-on training workshop, coaching them on app development, coding best practices and AI tools. The platform presented the brothers with a laptop and awarded them full scholarships for an advanced app development course.
The twins have also earned merit-based scholarships in primary school. They aspire to become software engineers, work with global research firms such as Microsoft or NASA, and eventually build their own AI-powered robot.
bdapps is one of Bangladesh’s app stores and developer ecosystems, with a community of over 100,000 developers. The platform enables developers to publish apps and explore monetisation through telecom APIs, subscriptions and other digital services.
