Eleven leaders of BNP have been relieved of their organisational posts in Sreemangal and Kamalganj upazila and municipality units in Moulvibazar for breaching party discipline.
The decision was announced in a press release issued by the Moulvibazar district unit of the BNP on Monday, signed by District BNP Convener Md Fayzul Karim Mayoon and Member Secretary Md Abdur Rahim Ripon.
The statement said the action was taken over the leaders’ involvement in activities deemed anti-organisational and contrary to party decisions, with the order taking immediate effect.
The district leadership also directed all party activists and members of affiliated organisations to sever organisational ties with those relieved of their posts.
Those removed from the Sreemangal Municipality BNP are Faisal Ahmed, Mir MA Salam, Titu Das, Nazrul Islam, Thomas Ahmed and Alkas Mia.
From Kamalganj, the affected leaders include Kamalganj Upazila BNP member Alam Parvez Chowdhury Sohel, and Kamalganj Municipality BNP members Iqbal Parvez Chowdhury Shahin, Shafiqur Rahman, Abdus Shahid and Haji Noman Ahmad.
