Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus will meet secretaries on Monday, with a speech expected at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Dhaka’s Tejgaon around 10:15am.
Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid confirmed the information to Times of Bangladesh.
Since the interim government was formed on 8 August 2024, this session marks its final meeting.
In his address on Monday, Chief Adviser Yunus is expected to deliver a farewell speech to the secretaries, discuss various issues, and possibly announce the formal conclusion of the government’s activities.
Before the 13th parliamentary election on 12 February, only the Advisory Council may convene again if urgently required.
According to Cabinet Division sources, 75 secretaries across ministries and divisions including 16 appointed on a contractual basis are expected to attend.
Later in the day, Yunus is scheduled to chair the Advisory Council meeting.
On Thursday, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that responsibilities will be handed over to the elected government as soon as possible after the general election. This time, the transfer of power will be the fastest.
