FC Barcelona secured a commanding 4-1 La Liga victory over Villarreal at Camp Nou, with teenage star Lamine Yamal scoring the first hat-trick of his career. The win extends Barça’s temporary lead at the top of the table and marks a perfect 100th game for manager Hansi Flick.
Barça controlled the opening 45 minutes against the third-placed side, excelling in ball retention, chance creation, and high-line defending. Lamine Yamal was the standout performer, terrorising left-back Sergi Cardona and scoring two goals before half-time, including a brilliant solo effort widely praised as one of the finest strikes of the season.
Fermín López assisted both Yamal goals and impressed in midfield, while Marc Bernal managed the pivot role effectively, distributing the ball accurately and maintaining the team’s rhythm.
The second half began with a Villarreal corner goal by Pape Gueye, narrowing the deficit and creating early pressure on Barcelona. The visitors launched dangerous counters, briefly testing Barça’s defence. Despite this, Barcelona remained largely in control.
Hansi Flick introduced Pedri around the 60th minute, and the midfielder immediately regained possession dominance, slowing Villarreal’s momentum. Pedri then delivered a perfect through ball for Yamal, who completed his hat-trick with a composed finish to restore Barcelona’s two-goal cushion.
In added time, Robert Lewandowski converted a tap-in from a Jules Kounde assist to make it 4-1, rounding off a comfortable victory. Overall, Barcelona were the superior side for 80 minutes, combining individual brilliance from Yamal with cohesive team play.
