“To be honest, this innings has made me more confident. I have received so many good wishes and am still receiving them. Thank you, everyone,” Hridoy wrote after the match.

Hridoy also received the Player of the Match award for his innings. Holding the trophy made him think about doing something similar for the national team.

“While holding the Player of the Match trophy, I kept thinking that one day, Inshallah, I will play an innings like this for the national team. Anything is possible with the blessings of Allah and my mother.”

Hridoy became the first Bangladeshi batter to score 350 in first class cricket. He also became the first Bangladeshi to score a first class triple century away from home.

The 25 year old is already a known face in Bangladesh’s ODI and T20I teams. He has also made his Test debut.

His latest innings has now sent another strong message about his ability in the longer format.

For Hridoy, however, the bigger dream remains ahead. He now wants to produce an innings of this scale for Bangladesh.
