Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has said that they will not bow to any evil force.
He made the remark in a post from his verified Facebook page at 6:50am on Sunday.
In the Facebook post, addressing his colleagues, the Jamaat chief inquired about their condition in the post-election environment.
Shafiqur Rahman said, “From different parts of the country, we are receiving reports of unruly behaviour, attacks, vandalism, arson, and even painful incidents of harassment of our respected women over voting for the symbol of the 11-party alliance.”
Reaffirming his commitment to justice and truth, he wrote, “We will not bow to any evil force. Wherever attacks occur, together with the people, we must stand beside the oppressed and build strong protest and resistance right there.”
Calling on colleagues to stand firmly with the public, he added, “Remember, this is a demand of humanity, a demand of loving Almighty Allah, and a demand of loving the country. We are determined to fulfill this demand. There is no scope to show weakness in this regard.”
