The chase felt like a formality once Shai Hope settled in. He paced the innings beautifully, reached his fifty with ease and controlled the tempo without fuss. Hope finished unbeaten on 61 and made the target look modest.
Shimron Hetmyer provided the muscle. He attacked the gaps, cleared the ropes when needed and ensured there was no late drama. Their unbroken stand killed the contest long before the finish.
West Indies crossed the line in 15.2 overs with 28 balls unused. The win locked up six points, tightened their grip on the top of Group C and sent a clear message to the rest of the tournament. Calm, clinical and efficient, West Indies have arrived early at the business end.
