The MV Lowlands Patrasche, carrying 60,950 metric tonnes of wheat from the United States, has arrived at the outer anchorage of Chattogram port.
The shipment is part of a government-to-government (G-to-G) agreement between the United States and Bangladesh under cash purchase contract G-to-G-01, signed through a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Bangladesh has already begun importing wheat from the US under this agreement. The contract covers a total of 440,000 metric tonnes, with previous consignments including 56,959 tonnes on 25 October 2025, 60,802 tonnes on 3 November 2025, and 60,875 tonnes on 15 November 2025.
The current shipment is the fourth consignment. So far, a total of 239,586 metric tonnes has been delivered in four shipments.
Sampling and testing of the wheat on board the vessel have already begun. After completing the tests, authorities will take necessary steps to quickly unload the shipment and ensure it reaches the market.
