United States Senate is set to vote on Wednesday on a proposal aimed at limiting the President’s power to declare war. If the proposal is passed, Trump’s authority declaring war will be restricted.

Debate regarding the bill is slated to begin at 11am local time, with the voting scheduled for 4pm.

Criticism has mounted against Trump for carrying out attacks on Iran without seeking the approval of Congress. A sharp debate has emerged over whether the President can bypass the Congress to launch such a major offensive.

Although Trump declared the start of the attack by ignoring Congress, US lawmakers are not supporting the move, reports The New York Times.
