Sheikh Rabiul Alam, minister of road transport and bridges, railways, and shipping, has urged newly recruited officers to dedicate themselves to the nation and make integrity the guiding principle of their professional journey.
The minister made the remarks at the closing ceremony of a seven-day induction training programme for 32 officers of the 44th BCS (Road and Highways) cadre at the Road Transport and Highways Department Conference Hall in Dhaka.
He acknowledged the challenges of serving the state but emphasised that young officials have the potential to bring about positive change.
“Dedicate yourself to the nation’s interest, and let honesty guide your path,” Sheikh Rabiul told the officers.
He also advised them to avoid unethical practices, prioritise public interest, and ensure efficiency in construction projects, highlighting the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and resource management.
State Ministers Habibur Rashid and Md Rajib Ahsan, present as special guests, stressed the collective role of officers in building a safe, efficient, and human-centric Bangladesh under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Rashid highlighted road safety and the importance of smooth traffic flow, while Rajib Ahsan encouraged the officers to serve the country with skill and dedication.
The ceremony, presided over by Secretary Mohammad Ziaul Haque, was attended by senior officials including Chief Engineer Syed Moinul Hasan of the Roads and Highways Department and Managing Director Faruk Ahmed of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited.
