Marking the 70th birth anniversary of legendary composer and singer Lucky Akhand on June 7, an unreleased composition titled ‘Urche Dhulo Chutchhe Ghora’ is being officially released as a tribute to his musical legacy.
The song features lyrics by Golam Murshed and is performed by Joy Shahriar.
Released under Aajob Records, the track’s guitar and sound design was done by Ahnaf Khan Anik and keyboard arrangement by Rafiqul Islam Farhad.
The lyric video of the song is now available on the YouTube channels of Joy Shahriar and Gaan Janala, while the track is also streaming globally across all major platforms.
Speaking about the project, Joy Shahriar said he never had the opportunity to work directly with Lucky Akhand, but was deeply moved upon learning about the existence of several unreleased compositions.
He added that lyricist Golam Murshed shared the song with him after his request, fulfilling what he described as a personal dream. Shahriar noted that he tried to preserve the essence of Lucky Akhand’s original composition as a tribute on his birth anniversary.
Golam Murshed recalled his long association with Lucky Akhand, mentioning years of close collaboration where lyrics were often set to melody and recorded informally. He added that several unpublished songs remain in his archive and expressed satisfaction with Shahriar’s interpretation of the piece, hoping it would resonate with listeners and admirers of Lucky Akhand’s music.
