United Finance has signed agreements with Bangladesh Bank to participate in the central bank’s Cluster Financing Scheme and a separate Financial Sector Fund for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), aimed at strengthening credit flow to the CMSME sector.
The signing ceremony was held at Bangladesh Bank headquarters in Dhaka on Monday, where United Finance Acting Managing Director Mohammed Abul Ahsan and Bangladesh Bank SME & Special Programmes Department Director Nawshad Mustafa signed the agreements.
Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar attended the event, according to a press release.
Under the Cluster Financing Scheme, Bangladesh Bank has created a Tk3,000 crore revolving refinancing fund from its own resources to support CMSME clusters across the country.
The initiative is guided by a 2025 circular, which requires financial institutions to allocate at least 10 per cent of CMSME lending to cluster-based enterprises.
Alongside this, United Finance will participate in a Tk1,500 crore Financial Sector Fund for the Development of MSMEs, further expanding targeted financing support for small enterprises.
Bangladesh Bank said the initiatives are intended to strengthen structured financing, expand access to credit and enhance resilience in cluster-based industries.
United Finance said it remains committed to implementing its responsibilities under the schemes and supporting central bank efforts to deepen financial inclusion in the CMSME sector.
United Finance, operating since 1989, said it continues to prioritise CMSME development and participates in multiple refinancing schemes as part of its broader lending strategy.
