United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has signed an agreement with Faridpur Pourosova to facilitate the digital collection of municipal revenues, supporting the municipality’s transition to a modern, technology-enabled payment system.

Under the agreement, UCB will provide banking and digital payment infrastructure for collecting designated municipal revenues. These include holding tax, trade licence fees, water bills, building plan approval fees, municipal market rents, birth and death registration fees, and other service charges.

Once implemented, residents will be able to make municipal payments through UCB’s banking network and digital channels, making the process faster, more secure, and more convenient. The initiative is also expected to enhance the efficiency and transparency of municipal revenue collection.

The agreement was signed by Administrator of Faridpur Pourosova Md Iliasur Rahman, and Senior Executive, Vice President & Head of Transaction Banking Shahbaj Talat, United Commercial Bank PLC, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

Md Iliasur Rahman said the initiative will modernise the municipality’s revenue collection system and improve transparency in public service delivery.

Shahbaj Talat added that the agreement reflects UCB’s commitment to supporting digital public services through secure and efficient payment solutions for government institutions and citizens.
