Police have arrested 40 people during a special drive conducted in the Mirpur Model Thana area of the capital for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
The arrests were made by Mirpur Model Thana Police under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), according to a press release issued on Monday.
The statement said the special drive was carried out in different crime-prone areas under Mirpur police station, targeting individuals involved in regular criminal cases and other offences.
It added that those arrested include accused persons in ongoing cases as well as individuals allegedly linked to various criminal activities.
Police said legal action has been taken against the detainees, and they have been sent to court.
