The Entrepreneurship and Career Development Club (ECDC) of the University of Asia Pacific organised the grand finale of “Rustic Eatery Presents IDEA Season 5.0” at the UAP Auditorium on Monday, bringing together aspiring student entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovation enthusiasts under one platform.
IDEA Season 5.0 is the flagship business idea competition of ECDC, designed to encourage creativity, entrepreneurship, leadership, and problem-solving skills among university students.
This year’s edition witnessed participation from nearly 40 teams, who competed through multiple stages of evaluation, mentoring, and presentations before reaching the final phase of the competition.
After an intensive screening process and exhibition round, the top five teams advanced to the Grand Finale, where they pitched their business concepts before an esteemed panel of judges comprising academics, entrepreneurs, and business professionals.
The judging panel included Naheem Mahtab, Parveen S Huda, and Imteenan Akhtar Khan.
During the final round, participating teams presented innovative and solution-oriented business models focusing on diverse sectors such as technology, sustainability, renewable energy, agriculture, and customer support automation.
The finalists highlighted how their ideas could address real-world challenges while maintaining commercial feasibility and long-term scalability.
The event featured formal pitching sessions, multimedia presentations, and interactive question-answer segments, where judges evaluated the teams based on creativity, practicality, financial sustainability, market potential, and social impact.
The judges also shared feedback and insights with the participants, encouraging them to further refine their ideas and pursue entrepreneurial initiatives in the future.
At the end of the competition, “Team Deciders” was announced the champion of IDEA Season 5.0 for presenting the most promising and impactful business concept. “AgroVolt” secured the position of 1st runner-up, while “Commit Crew” became the 2nd runner-up.
The organisers expressed their appreciation to Rustic Eatery, the title sponsor of the event, for supporting youth entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives.
Gratitude was also extended to The Daily TIMES of Bangladesh, the official news partner, along with all volunteers, participants, guests, and supporters who contributed to the successful execution of the programme.
According to the organisers, IDEA Season 5.0 aimed not only to identify innovative business ideas but also to create a collaborative environment where students could develop entrepreneurial mindsets, gain industry exposure, and connect with professionals from different sectors.
The programme concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and networking session, where winning teams received recognition for their achievements and participants interacted with judges, sponsors, and guests. The event ended on a celebratory note, reaffirming ECDC’s commitment to nurturing future entrepreneurs and innovative leaders in Bangladesh.
