The United Arab Emirates has not issued any visa ban directive for Bangladeshis, the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi clarified on Monday, dismissing rumors spread over the weekend by a website posing as a visa processing centre.
Confusion arose after a site called uaevisaonline.com claimed that the UAE had imposed a visa ban on nationals from Bangladesh and several other countries.
In a press release on Monday, the Bangladesh Embassy clarified, “The information published on the website is not accurate. The UAE authorities have confirmed that no such declaration was issued by any Emirati authority.”
An embassy review of the uaevisaonline.com domain found inconsistencies in its registration details. While the website lists its head office in Dubai, the embassy confirmed that the address provided does not exist. Records also showed contact numbers linked to the UK, US, and India.
The embassy further noted that customer reviews of the company accused it of financial fraud.
Urging caution, the press release stated, “The embassy advises Bangladeshis in both Bangladesh and the UAE not to be misled by such baseless news. We also request all concerned to act responsibly in disseminating or sharing such information.”
