Two construction workers died after falling from an under-construction building in the Anwara upazila of Chattogram on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Siam, hailing from Kushtia, and Anis, from Rajshahi district. Both were employed on a six-storey building project in the Gundhipara area of Bot-toli union.
Witnesses stated the accident occurred while the workers were plastering the exterior of the building. A railing reportedly gave way, causing the pair to fall onto a scaffolding (maacha) below, which subsequently collapsed under the weight of the impact. Siam died at the scene.
Anis was rescued in critical condition and transported to Anwara Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead.
Md Junaet Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Anwara Police Station, confirmed that police have visited the site and recovered the bodies for necessary legal procedures.
