Several earthquakes were felt across Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, and the Bay of Bengal on Thursday. Among these, two tremors struck Sylhet in Bangladesh within a span of five minutes.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the first earthquake was felt at 2:50am with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale and a depth of 20 kilometres.
Subsequently, a second tremor occurred at 2:55am with a magnitude of 3.3 and a depth of 30 kilometres.
India’s earthquake monitoring agency, the National Center for Seismology, reported that an earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal at 3:38am. Its magnitude was 4.3 with a depth of 15 kilometres.
It also reported that another earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.7, hit Myanmar at 2:54am. The epicenter was located 6 kilometres from North Mandalay in Myanmar.
Meanwhile, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred in Ukhrul, Manipur, at 4:11am.
