Two additional fuel-laden vessels have recently arrived at Chattogram Port, and fuel handling operations are proceeding smoothly, reinforcing the ongoing fuel supply chain across the country.

The vessels, ‘Chang Hang Hong Tu’ and ‘LPG Seven’, are currently discharging cargo, with both expected to complete their operations in the coming days.

The deliveries will ensure a continuous fuel supply nationwide.

‘Chang Hang Hong Tu’, which reached the port on 15 March, is carrying gas oil from Malaysia.

Stationed in the Kutubdia area, the vessel has discharged around 7,020 metric tons of LPG, with unloading operations expected to conclude by 20 March, before it departs on Friday.

In total, 28 fuel-carrying vessels have recently arrived at the port, delivering a variety of fuels including LNG, LPG, crude oil, gas oil, high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO), and base oil.

These shipments originated from countries such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, and India.

Several more vessels are en route from Qatar, Australia, Singapore, Angola, Thailand, and Oman, carrying additional LNG, HSFO, LPG, and base oil to bolster the nation’s fuel supply.

Refayat Hamim, secretary of the Chittagong Port Authority, assured that all necessary measures have been implemented to maintain the smooth unloading and distribution of fuel.

He emphasised that the continued arrival of these vessels would play a crucial role in stabilising the national fuel supply.
