Police recovered the bodies of a young man and a young woman from Teknaf beach on Wednesday morning.
The bodies were found floating along the shore near North Lombori and Mithapanir Chhara boat jetty adjacent to Marine Drive in Teknaf Sadar Union at around 9am.
Locals spotted the bodies on the beach and informed police.
A team led by Teknaf Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdus Salam went to the scene and recovered the bodies before taking them to the police station.
Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Islam said in a statement that inquest reports had been prepared.
“Efforts are under way to identify the deceased and determine the exact cause of death, and further legal steps are being processed,” said Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Saiful Islam.
