Traffic fines can now be paid instantly through the bKash app or at over 350,000 bKash agent points across the country, following a joint initiative by Community Bank and bKash.
The service allows users to clear fines for all types of traffic cases filed by the Bangladesh Police. It aims to enable on-the-spot settlement whenever a case is filed for violating traffic rules. After receiving a fine slip, customers can pay anytime, anywhere, and quickly retrieve seized documents by showing the payment receipt, said a press release on Monday.
To pay through the app, customers must tap the ‘Pay Bill’ icon on the home screen, then select ‘Traffic Fine’ under the ‘Government Fee’ option or search for it. Entering the case number written on the slip will display the fine amount. After confirming the details and entering their PIN, the transaction is complete.
Upon successful payment, a confirmation SMS and in-app notification will be sent to the customer’s mobile number. A fee is applicable for the service. Downloading the digital receipt allows for the swift recovery of seized documents.
Alternatively, customers can pay at nearby agent points by providing the case ID and their mobile number to the agent. Once settled, the customer will receive a digital receipt from the agent.
