Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC has issued an emergency alert for its customers following reports of a fraud ring cheating individuals under the guise of collecting gas bills.
The Titas authorities stated that certain scammers, posing as company officials, have been calling customers on their mobile phones.
These fraudsters reportedly pressure and intimidate customers regarding alleged outstanding gas bills, demanding that payments be sent to specific personal bKash numbers.
In its cautionary notice, Titas urged customers to remain vigilant and pay gas bills only through designated banks or official Mobile Financial Services (MFS) apps, specifically bKash, Rocket, Upay, and Tap.
The organisation strictly advised against making payments to any personal bKash accounts to avoid falling victim to the scam.
For further assistance, consultation, or services, customers are encouraged to visit the relevant Titas Gas offices or contact the numbers provided on the official website at https://titasgas.gov.bd.
