Three pilots have filed a fraud case against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s adviser and Beximco Aviation’s Salman F Rahman, his brother ASF Rahman and four others, alleging non-payment of dues and misuse of a “fake company.”

The case was submitted on Sunday to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter, accusing the respondents of fraud involving Tk12,055,000.

The complainants are Captain Md Mahbub Alam, Captain Mohammad Rashedul Amin, and Captain Zahidur Rahman. Their lawyer, Md Tarikul Islam, confirmed the filing.

The other accused named in the cases are Abdullah Khan Mojlish of Beximco Aviation, his brother Imran Khan Mojlish, Gulzar Hossain, and Syed Samiul Wadud, also known as Sami Wadud.

Plaintiffs’ lawyer Md Tarikul Islam said the court has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the allegations and file a report.

According to the case statement, the captains were employed as pilots at Beximco Aviation Limited, where Salman F Rahman used helicopters for travel across the country.

They stated that although they had received salaries and allowances during employment, the company terminated them in February without clearing their dues, which they claim total more than Tk10 million.

The pilots alleged that the company operated as a “fake company,” claiming their services were taken through a fraudulent setup, that hundreds of millions of taka were misappropriated, and that they were denied payments owed to them.

They also said the accused conducted various recruitments at different times in 2021.
