Three people died of dengue and 580 others were admitted to hospitals across the country in the 24 hours to 8am on Monday.
The latest deaths took this year’s dengue toll to 59, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
The fatalities were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation and the Khulna and Sylhet divisions.
Since 1 January, a total of 16,684 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide.
Of them, 15,344 have recovered and been discharged, while 1,281 patients are currently undergoing treatment, the DGHS said.
