Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Saturia upazila of Manikganj on Friday.
The accident occurred around 10:30am near the eastern side of Billpara Bridge in Uttar Partilli. Among the victims, two succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Alam, 16, Sona Mia, 22, and Kalu Mia, 16, all residents of Tillai village in the upazila.
According to police and local sources, a truck carrying concrete was traveling from Darggram towards Manikganj when it collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
Three people were riding the motorcycle at the time. Alam, seated at the back of the motorcycle, died on the spot.
The other two, Kalu Mia and Sona Mia, were critically injured and taken to Manikganj Medical College Hospital, where Kalu Mia died around 2pm while Sona Mia died at 5:30pm.
Md Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Saturia police station, confirmed the incident around 6pm said locals rescued the injured and rushed them to the hospital. Police quickly reached the scene, seized the vehicles involved, and brought them to the station. Legal proceedings are underway.
