In Mohammadpur, members of Bangladesh Army and police haveconducted a joint operation, arresting three alleged drug traffickers along with a large cache of explosives, drugs, and weapons.

The army, in a press release, stated that based on specific intelligence, a joint operation led by the Bangladesh Army was carried out on Saturday from 4 pm to 8 pm near Geneva Camp, along Babur Road, Gazanbi Road area in Mohammadpur.

During the raid, three alleged drug dealers Shakil (20), Shahin (35), and Hussain (18) were apprehended. Authorities also recovered a significant quantity of heroin and explosives. Confiscated items included 12,000 packets of heroin, 800 grams of gunpowder, six cocktail bombs, and sharp weapons along with related accessories.

The press release added, “Such joint operations by the Bangladesh Army and other law enforcement agencies will continue in the future to maintain peace and order in the capital.”

Earlier, in August, a clash between two drug-related groups led to the murder of a man named Shah Alam. At that time, joint forces and police carried out separate operations in the Geneva Camp and surrounding police station area, arresting 30 individuals and seizing drugs and sharp weapons.

During the 24-hour operation, 26 suspects in the Shah Alam murder case were apprehended. Additionally, two people were arrested under the Explosives Act, two under the Narcotics Act, and one under other cases.
