The 21st Kazan International Film Festival, one of the world’s leading cinema events, is running in Russia from September 5 to 9. Bangladeshi short film ‘The Pair of White Pigeons’ has been selected for the main competition section.

Directed by Shahriar Azad Soumik from Jashore under the banner of Darbar Sharif and produced by Juboraj Shamim, the film marks a significant international entry. Soumik and cinematographer Shoaib Mohammad Zahedi Shams, invited by the organisers, have already walked the red carpet and attended press events.

The world premiere of The Pair of White Pigeons took place today at 11:00 am local time in Kazan.

Juboraj Shamim added that following Kazan, the film has also been chosen as the opening title of the Clapham International Film Festival in the US, which is slated to commence on September 13 and will continue till September 21.
